Time Out for Parents
If you were one of the fortunate children, your parents gave you a time-out when you misbehaved. If you were one of the not-so-fortunate ones you didn’t get sent to a corner, you were sent outdoors but only long enough to snatch a switch from the nearest tree to help your parents “strongly” encourage you to repent from your wicked ways! Still others experienced the not-so-gentle caress of “Big Bertha” the slender 42-inch leather enforcer that inhabited your father’s waistline. Well do not fear, this is not what we have in mind for you today!
In Time-Out for Parents you will find resources, book reviews, and articles to help you maneuver through the world of parenting. We hope to keep you informed about the latest trends influencing your children, as well provide you with articles and resources that will energize, support, and encourage you in your quest to raise girls who have the total package — an uncompromising love for God, others, and His Kingdom. Girls who hold to a solid biblical worldview as well as a healthy sense of self-worth. Girls who find their identity in Christ and not in the counterfeit the world offers.

Self-Injuring: A Cry for Help
"Sometimes I cut myself. Sometimes I burn myself." She was a beautiful 16-year-old girl explaining her secret behaviors for when she felt overwhelmed with life and hurtful memories. Wounds that Heal
I remember hearing stories in high school about self-mutilation and wondering how someone could do that to her own body. It made no sense. My immediate conclusion was that it had to be for attention. What else could drive a person to do such a thing? I also remember knowing that something like that would never be a problem for me. I was too strong to ever resort to hurting myself, or so I thought.

If You must Shelter, Teach Too
Raising girls in these days is frightening! Our girls don’t get to be little girls for long. Very early on, they are faced with decisions and moral dilemmas that are tough even for adults. Oh how we long to shut out the world and cocoon our girls from those influences.

Bringing up Girls Book Review
Christian parents these days more now than ever before struggle to raise their children in a society that wants to ruin them from the offset. Girls especially are subject to a more media driven society than in the past. That's why this long awaited book delivers the greatest possible impact to the world of girls and those who parent and teach them - and as National GM Director and the mom of two daughters, many chapters definitely hit a nerve. No disappointment here!
