Girls Ministries church-based discipleship ministry has a legacy of godly women coming alongside girls guiding them on a path to becoming mature and godly women. Our goal is simple, to see every girl moving toward a deep relationship with Jesus Christ, and to realize her importance and potential in the kingdom of God.
Girls Ministries clubs use weekly meetings, projects, adventures, and annual outings as opportunities to know and understand each girl, her story, connecting her with the Creator and His plan for her life.
Leaders use a time-tested achievement system that meets girls where they are developmentally, helping them build strong biblical foundations while experiencing fun and engaging activities (view a list of the unit topics).
The following information will help answer some basic questions about Girls Ministries. For a more detailed understanding of this ministry, please contact your church leader.
HOW WILL GIRLS PARTICIPATE?
Each girl will learn and grow through regular involvement in meetings and sponsored events. She will develop godly friendships, cultivate a stronger understanding of the Bible, and experience God in amazing ways through group activities and individual accomplishments. Talk to your church about membership requirements for participation.
HOW WILL GIRLS GROW SPIRITUALLY?
Our goal is to come alongside families, helping them raise godly daughters. Girls Ministries is designed to help girls:
• Be in relationship with Jesus Christ
• Live according to the Word of God
• Mature through lasting Christian relationships
• Develop their gifts and abilities
• Share Jesus with others
WHAT KINDS OF THINGSWILL SHE DO?
Girls work on a series of four or six week units covering one topic at a time. These units include Scripture memorization, a central truth, and clubroom discoveries. Each church determines the program of Projects and Adventures their groups will enjoy based on the needs and interests of their girls. Projects and Adventures can include campouts, community service events, craft projects, field trips, and more
God created men and women with special differences. When a girl understands what it means to be a godly woman, she aspires to the design that God intended. A single-gender classroom has many benefits, but the greatest of these is for a girl to feel safe and secure in her discovery of who God intended her to be. This happens best by being mentored through a relationship with a godly woman.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THE PARENTS?
As with many church- and community-based programs, parental involvement comes in a variety of forms. Many parents meet with church leaders to discover how they may volunteer as club leaders, provide support for various activities, or help in other ways. In the home, parents are encouraged to support their girl's efforts as she learns and grows.
HOW MUCH DOES GIRLS MINISTRIES COST?
It is recommended that every girl has a uniform and an activity book or journal. Uniforms can vary by church. Please communicate with your group leader for details. Your church can provide information on where to secure the activity book or journal as well as explain any other potential expenses for participation. Every church approaches finances differently. To better understand how you can contribute to the program to ensure every girl has what she needs and has a quality experience, please visit with church leadership.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
As a girl makes new friends and works her way through the achievements, there will be many opportunities to celebrate with her. Every girl wants to understand her value and purpose. When you support her every step of the way, you help her understand that she is priceless, and her purpose is in His hands.
WHAT MAKES GIRLS MINISTRIES DIFFERENT?
Girls Ministries is the premier discipleship program for preschool through high school girls in the world. (Our youngest ages combine boys and girls in the program. When boys reach kindergarten age, they are encouraged to join Royal Rangers Ministry.) No other girls ministry program has our variety of activities, focused discipleship track, or a 60-plus-year proven track record of helping girls become confident, godly women who are leaders in the church, home, and world.
WILL GIRLS BE SAFE?
Girls Ministries provides churches with a variety of resources to ensure a safe environment. This includes training on developing safe activities, preventing bullying, and recruiting and screening godly, mature leadership.
