Five Ways to Show Girls You Care

Learn their names – A name is the first thing that sets us apart from everyone else. For girls, being known by name is the beginning of being known as a special and unique individual.

Acknowledge birthdays – Often having one's birthday celebrated comes as a pleasant surprise. The planning involved shows a girl that she is valued, that you thank God she was born, and that you're glad she's a part of your club.

Listen to their stories – Girls want to talk, and they want to be heard even more. You could start each club meeting by giving girls an opportunity to share something interesting in their life with the club. It could be spiritually related or just something tremendously funny they experienced.

Ask for their opinion – Let them help you select the units that you will cover. Ask for their suggestions on retreat activities, club adventures, etc. Ask which version of the Bible they read and how it has brought God's Word to life for them.

Look who's coming to dinner – Invite girls over for dinner. Have them sign up in dinner parties of three or four. This way, they can come with some friends they already know and will be more relaxed around your table. It also gives you a change to get to know a few at a time more intimately.
