2017-2018 Annual Theme

By: Whitney Cox

Our theme for this year is: Bloom-When Little Becomes Much!

This thought is taken from the parable of the mustard seed. "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree" (Matthew 13: 31-32, NIV).

As plants are challenged by lack of rain, too much sun, or attacks from insects or animals, the growth and development of our girls can be challenged as well. We must protect them from outside influences that wreak havoc on their young lives, and can hinder or stop the Christian growth process. It is so important that girls receive help and guidance as they navigate life.

There are amazing mentors who plant seeds of God's love in the lives of girls in their world. Just like fertile soil, the girls are ready and waiting to grow in Jesus. With your consistent teaching and training, you will see them begin to blossom, and eventually come to full bloom as true followers of Christ.

Take advantage of all the spring and summer décor out there. Anywhere you go you can find cute water buckets, flowers, gardening gloves, lanterns, blankets, tea cups, etc. The options are endless!

There are many ways to use the theme throughout the year! Use it at your annual celebration service. You can use the theme at a girl's night or retreat, at a women and girls luncheon, or even for a leader/group event.

Get excited for girls! Invest in girls by preparing the ground, destroying the weeds, and watering their lives with love. Then you will witness this year's theme: Bloom-When Little Becomes Much!
