Two Minute Quick Tip

By: Beth Morse, Girls Ministries Director, Southern New England

All Girls Ministries groups are uniquely different. Sometimes the things that work for bigger churches don't work for smaller ones and vice versa. But this tip should be universally helpful. It is important for the girls in the older groups to have ownership in what goes on and to feel like they are important, not only for classroom management help but also to help in their own mentoring.

I use my older girls to help me "run" the evening by having some of the girls run the sound equipment, set out snack for the group at the end, help the Rainbows' sponsors walk the kids down to their classroom, and any number of other "jobs" that are part of having an evening run smoothly. Not only do the girls feel like they have a vital role in the ministry, it is excellent training for when they step into ministry roles later on.
