We are making a switch! Beginning 2012, Coins for Kids projects will run from January to December so that all your BGMC giving will take place during a calendar year.
How does this affect South Africa - Place of Joy fundraising?
If at all possible, submit your Coins for Kids offerings for South Africa by December 20. We have a plan to accommodate giving to both projects from January to March 2012 but we want to make sure your offering goes to the project your girls have given toward. Giving by December 20 will help.
If you have a South Africa fund-raiser planned for early 2012, go ahead with it. When you submit your check, please write South Africa on the memo line so that we can record it properly.

Need some ideas to raise some money by the end of the year?
First, find out how much your church gave to Coins for Kids last year.
Next, set a goal that is higher than last year's amount.
Finally, challenge your girls and church to give more this year.
Club Challenge - Have the clubs compete against one another to bring in the most offering by December 12. Divide each club's total offering by the number of girls in the club to determine with club brought in the most per girl. Reward the winning club with Luna the Lamb sticker sheets (147075, $.99), Girls Clubs Backpack Coin Purses (178027, $2.50), or a special snack.
One Dollar Club - Encourage the girls to bring $1 a week for the next four weeks.
Ice Cream Sundaes - Host an ice cream sundae social following the evening service at your church. Contact grocery stores about donating the ice cream and toppings. Set a price for the sundaes but put out a container for donations. Order Coins for Kids promo cards (734933) so that your congregation has information about the project. Ask if you can show the Coins for Kids video in a service before the event.
Old Fashioned Bake Sale - Ask parents to bake a variety of yummy items and sell them to your church congregation. Again, order CFK promo cards and check on showing the CFK video before the sale.
